Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse (the French name "Les Éclaireurs" means "the Enlighteners" or "the Scouts") is better known as the Lighthouse at the End of the World. It stands on the northeastern-most island of Les Eclaireurs islands, about five nautical miles east of Ushuaia in the Beagle Channel.

With large nesting colonies near the coast of Argentina (as well as in southern Chile and the Falkland Islands), a trip to this part of the world isn't complete without some time walking among the penguins on Martillo Island. The breeding season begins with the arrival of adult Magellanic penguins in September and extends into late February and March when the chicks are mature enough to leave the colonies.
